In lots of cases, almost all of us do something similar..."Trust Somebody's ability rather than our own to solve a problem". This seem to happen when the situation is critical and of course it happens to be our habit in many instances.
Its a widely accepted fact that in any field, one's knowledge is not absolute... Its always relative. Since it is human to err, we fail even to evaluate one's ability in comparison to ours. But the loss will be huge when we entrust the responsibilities to inferior candidates.
We see the other team is jumping on us in some issue and making some mindless, unwarranted allegations. We feel like taking our side and shutting the opponent's mouth but we might bestow that authority on another team member who might be a superior or a lead thinking they will handle the matter more effectively. Sometimes we have to do it though we know we are the better person at the job.
We observe few things of generic interest like Our county's diplomacy, inflation, currency or some reforms in a sector. With our huge interest and lack of information we want our Govt to take a step with thorough analysis.
We, obviously be disappointed when the trustees can't meet their expactations. But one thing we shall note is sometime in future we too get some responsibilities and represent a group in similar situations. That doesn't mean that we can pardon their failures. We shall analyse their failures and use them as our case studies to find the best ways of approach.
We shall find out ways to improve and utilize our own ability to meet the expectations.
hmmm :) U seem to have a big picture of this... Its varying from a team to country :)
